Library 2.0

Library 2.0, does anyone really understand what this is, I mean, what is it? From what I understand  it is an upgrade from library 1.0 and involves new technology in the library world. Help me out people, what do you understand about it.

This video should be on every computer in a library. Before users login in to a computer play it, they might learn something.

This video is funny, but you might learn a thing or two about libraries. So please enjoy 3 Nutty Bunnies being creative at the library.

What I know about blogging can fit on a head of a needle. They say its suppose to be easy but i don’t think it is. I mean everytime I do something I’m always second guessing myself because I am not sure I’m doing it right. People who do this everyday have to have patience, that is just my opinion, like I said, I just don’t get it.

As a library paraprofessional in training, knowing this is important to me. For most people, libraries is just a place where you can get information you need and then leave. For me, it is a place where knowledge lives. “Never trust anyone who has not brought a book with them.” Lemony Snicket said that, and being a book lover myself I happened to believe its true.

Its a difficult job, but somebody got to do it.

The traditional definition is “a collection of books”. The ALA
Glossary of Library and Information Science (Heartsill Young (ed.)
Chicago: ALA, 1983) defines a library as:
“A collection of material organized to provide physical,
bibliographical, and intellectual access to a target group with a
staff that is trained to provide services and programs related to the
information needs of the target group”.

For those of us who still don’t get it, here is a clip to explain, what is a blog. I hope it gets easier for you to understand. Good Luck.

I watched this clip and it made me think of the library I work in. Although we are setup to use some modern day technology, we can’t get access to it because of low funds, or so we are being told.

I work in a school library, and the children just don’t understand “No Eating in the Library”. If we can set this clip up to play over and over again, I believe it might make them understand how I feel when I have to tell them to stop eating. If only.
